Most Profitable Coins To Mine With AMD Radeon RX 7900XT

The Radeon RX 7900 XT is an enthusiast-class graphics card by AMD, launched at the same time as the RX 7900 XTX on November 3rd, 2022. Both these graphics cards are designed to take the fight to NVIDIA's high-end: the GeForce RTX 40-series "Ada," but at highly competitive prices. The new RDNA3 architecture promises to repeat the 50% leap in performance/Watt that made it possible for AMD to return to the high-end graphics segment with their RX 6000 series RDNA2.

AMD carved the Radeon RX 7900 XT from the "Navi 31" GPU, by enabling 84 out of 96 RDNA3 compute units physically present on the silicon. This results in hardware specs of 5,376 (out of 6,144) stream processors, 336 (out of 384) TMUs, the chip's full 192 ROP count, and a 320-bit GDDR6 memory interface, which runs 20 GB of 20 Gbps memory, resulting in an impressive 800 GB/s memory bandwidth.

The RX 7900 XT is usually used to mine both core and memory-intensive algorithms such as KAWPOW mainly known thanks to Ravencoin and is used by some other coins such as Neurai, Neoxa, and Clore.

AMD Radeon RX 7900XT Payback Period

The AMD Radeon RX 7900XT payback period depends on its efficiency (hashrate), selling price, and energy consumption. The estimate features Amd recommended retail price - $899, but you can change it to the price you actually paid for your GPU. The energy expenses are not taken into account in the calculation. The GPU hashrate corresponds to optimal overclocking parameters. Make sure to read: GPU Overclocking on Different Algorithms.

AMD Radeon RX 7900XT Overclocking for Mining

To maximize hash rate you are probably going to need to configure additional settings. First, make sure that the GPU driver you are using supports mining. You might also need an upgrade in case you have AMD GPUs. Next step is to choose an optimal GPU overclocking value to maximize hash rate and keep energy consumption at an acceptable level. Algorithms may require core overclocking, memory overclocking, or both. The main overclocking principle is stable work and maximum hash rate at an acceptable energy consumption level. It’s important to remember that each GPU is unique. If for one it is possible to overclock the core to 2000 MHz, for a similar one you may be able to overclock only to 1900 MHz. Make sure to adjust overclocking settings for each card individually. Find out more: GPU Overclocking on Different Algorithms.
